About CUEED PII

CUEED PII, The Rutgers University Center for Urban Entrepreneurship and Economic Development’s (CUEED) Pipeline to Inclusive Innovation (PII) Initiative aims to increase the number of under-represented inventors, scientists and technology-focused Minority Business Enterprises (MBEs) engaged in federally-funded innovation and technology programs. CUEED PII is a federally funded initiative of the U.S. Minority Business Development Agency. Through the MBDAs mission to increase the number of MBEs that participate in Small Business Innovation Research (SBIR) and Small Business Technology Transfer (STTR) programs, CUEED PII will provide comprehensive training and support around three key stages of the commercialization process:
Stage 1: Under-represented inventors, scientists and technology-focused MBEs at the primary stage of technology development will increase their awareness of federal technology transfer programs.
Stage 2: MBEs who have new, commercializable technologies or have plans to develop them, will gain assistance in forming companies and applying to Small Business Innovation Research (SBIR)/ Small Business Technology Transfer (STTR) programs.
Stage 3: MBEs who have received Phase 1 SBIR/STTR awards will learn how to prepare for successful Phase II proposals.
